Workday Inc. & Platfora Inc.
Workday Inc., a cloud-based finance and HR software company signed up a deal to acquire stake in analytics provider, Platfora Inc.
No financial details have been disclosed and the deal is likely to be sealed later this year. Reportedly, the acquisition will allow integration of Platfora’s technology in Workday’s financial management and automation of supply chain offering.
Unilever & Dollar Shave Club
Unilever PLC, the European consumer goods giant, has reached an accord to buy the four-year-old men’s grooming subscription company Dollar Shave Club. While the monetary terms were not disclosed, the European giant paid about USD 1 billion in an all-cash deal, according to people privy to the deal. The deal will likely be sealed in the third quarter of this year.
The deal will allow Unilever to challenge American multinational consumer product giant P&G. Dollar Shave Club has chipped away at market leader Gillette,a P&G product, which has responded with its own Gillette Shave Club and last year filed a patent-infringement lawsuit.
Expedia & Trover
Expedia, the global online travel brand has acquired travel photo-sharing platform Trover. The terms and financial details of the business were not disclosed. The deal presents another opportunity to the travel giant to connect with its customers and change the meaning of travel through technology forever.
NowFloats & Lookup
NowFloats, online sales intelligence company based out of Hyderabad has acquired Lookup, messaging app for connecting shoppers with businesses. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. NowFloats plans to leverage Lookup’s technology to provide messaging solutions to SMEs.
Monotype & Olapic
Monotype, provider of typeface solutions has acquired Olapic, social media marketing solution company for approximately USD 130 million.
Monotype will leverage Olapic’s strength to buttress its type, technology and expertise in helping brands express their story and engage with its customers.
